CILS certification (Certificato di Italiano come Lingua Straniera – Certificate of Italian as a foreign language) issued by University of Perugia, certifies linguistic -communicative competence in Italian as a second language.
There are 6 levels of CILS certifications:
- CILS A1 (Level A1 of the CEFR):
- CILS A2 (Level A2 of the CEFR):
- CILS Uno (Level B1 of the CEFR – Citizenship):
- CILS Due (CEFR Level B2):
- CILS Tre (CEFR Level C1)
- CILS Quattro (CEFR Level C2)
The exam evaluates linguistic-communicative skills and the four basic skills, therefore the exam is divided into four sections (oral, written, morphosyntactic and vocabulary skills, comprehension of written texts, understanding of oral texts).
CILS certifications are recognized in both the work and educational and university sectors. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recognizes the CILS B1 certification form as a valid certificate of competence in the Italian language to obtain the EC Residence Permit for long-term residents.
Preparation at Fluentoday includes written compositions & comprehension, role-plays, oral presentations and grammar based on past official exams. All the preparation are held by trained and certified CILS examiners to prepare students for all levels and needs.
