We strongly believe that every personality is unique and every individuality matters when we refer to our identity, and our way of speaking is a big part of it.
Sometimes when we talk in another language we feel our identity is hidden or not fully expressed. Fluentoday is committed to help you to maintain your peculiarities and all the characteristics that make you… YOU, even in another language.
In order to achieve that the teaching methods we rely on include:
- Grammar which is a big part of all the process of the language study and main support of your language learning. The practise of listening, reading, writing and speaking are fundamental tools to use language at work or to communicate effectively with friends and colleagues in any context. Our individual and group classes are focused on the study and the reinforcement of all the grammar elements which allow you to gain freedom of expression and a richer vocabulary
- Constructivist method is another tool that we use to encourage the active participation of the learner. Learning is more effective when a student is actively engaged in the learning process rather than attempting to receive knowledge passively. Most of these methods rely on some form of guided discovery where the teacher avoids most direct instruction and attempts to lead the student through questions and activities to discover, discuss, and verbalize the new knowledge.
Communicative language teaching
The Communicative language teaching (CLT) is also an approach that is mainly used in Fluentoday, in which our educators put students in a variety of real-life situations through role-plays and cooperative learning, so that they will be immersed directly in the use of the authentic spoken language to communicate in the real world.
Among the activities the CLT uses to facilitate the communication of learners in the target language are group discussion, simulation and role play.
- Group discussion can be carried out in pair, group or whole class discussion. Students' communication will be enhanced by the exchange of their ideas and their collaboration on a specific topic.
- Simulation equips the learners with everyday life situations in which they can simulate possible scenarios using the correct use of the target language and techniques of problem solving, according to the situation.
- Role-play is similar to simulation; the difference is that the role-play may use adopted identity and pretend to be someone else. Communicating in different social contexts and different social roles gives an opportunity to the target language learners to learn different socio-cultural contexts and how to respond accordingly.
In everyday life all these approaches are useful to:
- Negotiate in any work or social environment
- Resolve practical problems in everyday life such as issues with credit cards, hotel, tickets, bookings and so on
- Audience persuasion
- Be more naturally immersed in an Italian context
- Facilitate the knowledge of new people or dating by sharing a more natural attitude
Fluentoday will give you the maximum linguistic support during the whole process of learning.
